Yollo AI is a character roleplay platform. You chat with AI characters, create your own bots, and generate images and short videos. The site claims more than 200,000 characters and says you can start without signing up. This guide covers how it works, what the Persona feature and models do, and where the official messaging contradicts itself. The tool profile is on our Yollo AI page.
1. Getting started
The Discovery page lists characters with filters for Male, Female and Non-binary, and genre tabs such as Community, Anime, Story, Fiction, Mystery, Realm, Magic, Epic and Horror. Each card shows a short premise, tags and a message count. Open a card to start chatting; the FAQ says no login or registration is needed. Yollo AI also has iOS and Android apps.
2. Persona and AI models
Persona lets you set your own name, gender and personality so the character treats you consistently through the conversation. A short persona of one or two sentences is usually enough, and it makes long stories noticeably more coherent.
The site says it offers more than 10 AI models, some more creative for storytelling and others better at following instructions. You can switch models mid-chat. If a character drifts out of role, try a model that follows instructions more closely. If replies feel flat, try a more creative one.
3. Create Bot, AI Image and AI Video
- Create Bot: build your own character with a description, personality and relationship to the user.
- AI Image: the site advertises up to 4K images and templates such as headshot, Ghibli-style, Pixar-style, aging filter and baby generator.
- AI Video: 1080p clips with templates including old-photo animation and gender swap. A newer "Spicy Video 2.0" option is listed with clips of up to 30 seconds.
Image and video templates that use a real photo raise the same consent issue as any face tool. Only use photos of yourself or of people who have agreed.
4. Free vs Pro+
The FAQ says Yollo AI is "completely free, with no hidden costs or message limits". The interface also shows an Upgrade Pro+ button and a gem balance, which suggests that some features or generation volume are paid. We did not buy Pro+. Check what a feature costs before you rely on it.
5. What the content rules say

The two official statements contradict each other. Our reading: Yollo AI positions itself as a lightly filtered storytelling platform, but explicit chat is not something its FAQ promises. If content rules matter to you, read the Terms linked in the footer, because they take precedence over marketing copy.
- Many characters and templates are clearly aimed at adults. The service is not suitable for minors.
- No sign-up does not mean no data collection. Do not share personal details with characters.
FAQ
Do I need an account for Yollo AI?
No. The FAQ says you can start chatting without logging in or registering.
Is Yollo AI free?
Core chat is advertised as free with no message limits. A Pro+ upgrade and a gem balance also appear in the interface.
Does Yollo AI allow NSFW chat?
The official pages disagree. The homepage says it does; the FAQ page says the platform is not designed for explicit NSFW chat. Check the Terms.
